Earlier this month Gov. Christie signed a bill requiring all NJ skiers & snowboarders age 17 or younger to wear a helmet on the mountain. Effective November 1st, parents/guardians will be subject to fines ($25 for 1st offense, $100 for subsequent offenses) each time their law-breaking grom is caught helmet-less. We'll probably get some whining & eye-rolls from the teenagers, but let's be real: we all know it's a good idea. The sport's all about progression &  if after Kevin Pearce's injury this winter, you still don't have a helmet-- it's about time you start protecting your skull!
